BMD Expands Mining and Resource Capability

BMD has been awarded the $30.1 million Grosvenor contract for client, Anglo American. Grosvenor is a standard longwall and coal handling preparation plant located in Moranbah, Central Queensland.

The scope of works for BMD includes approximately 8,000m3 of structural concrete consisting of extensions to the existing coal wash plant, extension to the existing train load out tunnel, footings for new conveyors and transfer towers and rail foundations for a new stacker and reclaimer. Furthermore, minor road and drainage works, 80,000m3 of earthworks consisting of a new product coal stockpile pad and a new High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) lined water storage dam will be constructed.

This project builds on BMD’s previous contract of works for Grosvenor and will expand their mining and resource capabilities in the region.
