BMD celebrates safety achievements

Both JMac Constructions and BMD Constructions Northern Region have recently celebrated significant safety milestones within their operations.

At the end of October, JMac Constructions reached 1.3 million man hours Lost Time Injury (LTI) free. During the LTI period between September 2011 and October 2015, JMac Constructions completed a number of major projects including Robelle Domain Stage 1 and 2 in Springfield, the Brunswick St Mall upgrade in Brisbane, Port of Melbourne landscaping works, the North Shore development in Townsville, Cairns Connect landscaping works, and Zuccoli landscaping works in Darwin.

An increased understanding and buy-in of JMac Constructions’ safety procedures and systems has contributed to the milestone.

As of 2 November, BMD Constructions Northern Region achieved 14 months and over 2,000,000 man hours LTI free. Despite the number of major projects that were underway during this time, our Zero Harm goal remained top of mind for our project teams. In addition to our teams remaining stringent on site, the BMD Constructions Safety Improvement Plan helped the team focus on specific improvement areas.
