Brisbane Airport Domestic Terminal Apron (DTA) Expansion
2 August 2011 - BMD Constructions was selected as the preferred contractor on 27th July 2011 to construct the new $36 million Domestic Terminal Apron (DTA) Expansion for the Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC).
With domestic passenger numbers at Brisbane Airport predicted to increase from 15.5 million passengers per annum in 2010 to around 33.3 million passengers by 2028-29, BAC is putting infrastructure in place now to ensure the Domestic Terminal has the capacity to cope with this predicted demand.
The DTA expansion will compose of approximately 55'000m3 of high-strength aircraft PQC pavements, 242,000m3 of earthworks including sand surcharge removal/placement, stormwater drainage, new water main and electrical works to allow for new plane parking areas and taxiway facilities at the Northern Satellite at the Domestic Airport. .
Work on the project has now commenced and is due for completion by late 2012.
